Ralf grew up in Augsburg, Germany, in the state of Bavaria, where pretzels are found in every bakery and in countless beer gardens. There he learned to love and make genuine Bavarian pretzels and, lucky for us, brought that passion with him when he moved to Bellingham in 2003 to start his own bakery.
Ralf is committed to and passionate about using organic ingredients and all of his flour comes exclusively from the Fairhaven Organic Flour Mill, a local family owned mill processing only organic grains since 1974!
As we are always trying to consider our environmental aspect as well, we LOVE that Ralf’s bakery is located across the street from us and the Fairhaven Organic Flour Mill is, literally, next door to our beer garden. The food we love is made right here in our own community…in fact, right here, on our block. How’s that for local eating!?
