Here at Boundary Bay Brewery we believe strongly in a sense of community. We love to keep business local and make it a priority to support independently owned businesses in our community. To that end, we often host rock shows late on Friday nights and give all the proceeds to local non-profits. This Friday, September 11th, join us in the beer garden as The Elements rock the stage and raise money for Common Threads Farm.
Common Threads Farm offers farm-based educational programs for people of all ages. They have made it their mission to promote thoughtful engagement in sustainable food and energy because they believes that life-long health habits are formed when we are young. So, positive experiences with healthy, home-grown food and purposeful, enjoyable physical activity benefit children and youth today and for years to come. Common Threads Farm grew out of founder and director Laura Plaut’s 20+ years as an experiential educator and her conviction that nothing is more fundamental and worthy of our attention than how we choose to interact with food and energy. She believes that important issues such as the future of food and energy will be solved, slowly but surely, by helping people experience and fall in love with patterns of consumption that are healthy for themselves, their communities, and our planet.
Tonight, at Boundary Bay Brewery, you can listen to great live music AND help support this incredible local nonprofit that is helping to make our community stronger and more sustainable. If you come down early, you can even grab some beer battered rockfish and chips at our weekly Friday Fishfry. The benefit show starts at 9 pm and the $5 cover goes directly to Common Threads Farm to support their educational programs. Be part of the solution…and have fun while doing it! See you tonight.
