Bellingham Inspired Art at Boundary Bay Brewery

Posted on February 15, 2012 by Boundary Bay

During March and April, we’ll have the work of Todd Edison gracing the walls of our bistro!  We love featuring the work of local artists here at Boundary Bay Brewery – especially when it’s inspired by this unique little community we’re lucky enough to call home.

Todd Edison began experimenting with photography at young age.  His mother was a photo hobbyist, and Todd’s passion and excitement grew from her work.  Through his extensive travels in South East Asia, Central America, Europe, and North Africa, Todd has learned to look at his surroundings from varying perspectives.

Todd’s current work is inspired by the Northwest and specifically living in Bellingham.  “We are lucky to have so much natural beauty in and around Bellingham.  My goal is to try to capture a small glimpse of the beautiful landscapes where we live.”

Todd has been living in Bellingham for the past 7 years.  He has two children, ages 6 and 8, and somehow still finds time to paint, travel, surf , read AND be the  Head Coach of the Bellingham Bay Swim Team!  If you’re interested in purchasing his work, contact Todd at toddkedison@hotmail.com or 360-303-1363.

2009 Bellingham Bay Marathoners!

On September 26th, at 7:30 am, thousands will take off on a race around Bellingham.  The Bellingham Bay Marathon is an annual race that highlights the natural beauty of Bellingham Bay, San Juan Islands and the Interurban trail in Bellingham, WA.  It’s been called “the most beautiful marathon in the Pacific Northwest”…and that’s not just because the finish line is right at Boundary Bay Brewery!

The marathon course treats the runners to views of Lummi Island, Portage Channel, Portage Bay, Portage Island, Bellingham Bay, Mount Baker, Nooksack River, Squalicum Creek Park, Squalicum Harbor, Downtown Bellingham, South Bay Trail, Boulevard Park, Taylor Street Dock, San Juan Islands, Fairhaven,  and Bellingham’s Interurban Trail.

This marathon raises funds to support non-profit Whatcom county youth organizations. Net proceeds will benefit the Bellingham Bay Swim Team and the WFC Rangers soccer club. Both are not-for-profit organizations. The Bellingham Bay Swim Team is a year-round, non-profit club comprised of over 100 swimmers of all ages, abilities, and commitment levels. Whatcom Football Club (WFC) Rangers is the select soccer program in Whatcom County, situated in District One of the Washington State Youth Soccer Association. Club membership is made up of 450 boy and girl soccer plays, playing on 28 teams in several leagues.

We’ll be celebrating at Boundary Bay Brewery on race day and you should come join us!  Give your congratulations to the athletes and thank everyone involved for helping to support local nonprofits.  Our Beer Garden will be open during the day starting at noon for spectators and racers. All ages are welcome and there’s no cover! Around 1pm, there will be an awards presentation for the top finishers in the marathon and then live music by Cabin Fever!  Bring the whole family and come enjoy BBQ, hand crafted beer and sunshine in the Beer Garden.

Oh, and if you long to be a part of the Bellingham Bay Marathon, but don’t really feel up to running, consider volunteering! Experience the excitement of the Bellingham Bay Marathon. Help athletes, from all over the US and Canada, have the best possible race experience and feel at home. Volunteer today by completing the online volunteer form!

PIONEERS OF BELLINGHAM BEER!

Boundary Bay Brewery opened in 1995 and we've been Saving The Ales ever since!

We pride ourselves on making great handcrafted beer and fresh, local food for the Bellingham community.

Our brewery, which houses a Tap Room and a family friendly Bistro, is located in a historic 1922 warehouse in Downtown Bellingham, across from the Saturday Farmer’s Market.

We also have a great deck for outdoor dining and a Beer Garden where you can enjoy BBQ's and outdoor concerts in the Summer. You can see why this is where the locals love to go!

We work hard to brew great craft beer and we've been recognized with over 70 awards for our handcrafted beers over the years. Come see what makes us so special!
