Drinking Beer and Doing Good

Posted on July 17, 2012 by Boundary Bay

Brewers by the BayIf you know us at all, you know that here at Boundary Bay Brewery, we care just as much about giving back to the community as we do about making really, really good beer.  Luckily, those two pursuits go hand in hand pretty often.  This weekend’s Brewers by the Bay beer festival is a perfect example!

This Sunday (July 22nd), from 1-5pm, representative from 30 regional breweries will gather at the Depot Market Square (at the corner of Railroad Avenue and Maple Street) to bring you over 60 different micro brews to sample.  In it’s sixth year, this Bellingham beer festival gathers together craft beer lovers who enjoy great beer, good food and live music while helping to raise money for local non profit organizations.  This year, the music will be provided by The Playlists, Lost at Last and the Lost Highway Band.

Tickets ($25 advance / $30 at the door) include entrance to the event, a commemorative tasting glass, your first five tastes and live music. Best of all, the proceeds from this event go directly to organizations such as Northwest Youth Services, Whatcom Hospice House, Bellingham Boys & Girls Club as well as many other youth and family focused charities throughout Whatcom County.  You can get your tickets in advance here at our brewery or at one of these other locations: Applied Digital Imaging, Natural Way Chiropractic, Chuckanut Brewery and Elizabeth Station.

Depot Market SquareSo, come spend an afternoon with us in downtown Bellingham – drinking beer and doing good!

Not only will you help support many of our local non profits, but you’ll get to enjoy delicious beers from Alameda Brewing Company, Alaskan Brewing, American Brewing Company, Anderson Valley Brewing Company, Big Sky Brewing Company, Boundary Bay Brewery, Chuckanut Brewery, Diamond Knot Brewing, Dick’s Brewing Company, Elysian Brewing Company, Emerald City Brewing, Firestone Walker Brewing Company, Fish Brewing Company, Fremont Brewing Company, Georgetown Brewing Company, Harmon Brewing Company, Kulshan Brewery, Lost Coast Brewing Company, Mac & Jack’s Brewing Company, Ninkasi Brewing Company, Oakshire Brewing, Odin Brewing Company, Pike Brewing Company, Skagit River Brewery, Sierra Nevada Brewing Company, Stone Brewing Company, 21st Amendment Brewery and Two Beers Brewing Company.

Brewers By the Bay

Posted on July 21, 2010 by Boundary Bay

Bellingham Bay Rotary presents the 4th annual “Brewers by the Bay” microbrew tasting! We are excited to build on the success of our three previous events and want you to be a part of the experience! Last year’s event featured 31 breweries, 65 different microbrews and over 800 attendees.

This is one of only a few epic Micro Brew Tasting Event that happens right here in Bellingham!  You get a chance to sample beers from around 30 breweries and chat with the brewery folks about beer, brewing, whatever!  For just $25 bucks you get entrance to the event, a commemorative tasting glass, 5 tasting tokens, free live music and free BBQ.  Best of all, though, is that ALL proceeds from this event go to support the Whatcom Hospice House.

The Brewers By the Bay event will help raise funds to build a Hospice House for Northwest Washington. Since beginning in June of 08, over 3,000,000 has been raised towards our much needed goal of 6 million dollars.  Whatcom Hospice consistently serves more than 100 patients every day in Whatcom County. Hospice professionals work with both patients and their loved ones to create individualized plans of care which enable patients to live the final days of their lives comfortably and pain free, with dignity, purpose and peace.  Currently, however, hospice services can only be offered to a patient in his or her home, a hospital or long-term care center. For a variety of reasons, these options are not always the most desirable or appropriate for either the patient or caregiver.  It is time another option became available: a Hospice House.

So take advantage of  this great opportunity to not only help out a great cause, but to taste awesome craft beer in the process.  That’s a seriously win-win situation!  You can get tickets at various outlets around Bellingham including here at Boundary Bay Brewery, Applied Digital Imaging, Natural Way Chiropractic, Birch Bay Equipment Rentals and the Green Frog Acoustic Tavern.  You can score tickets online too!

Cheers.

Lots and Lots of Brewers!

Posted on July 23, 2009 by Boundary Bay

Brewers by the Bay is taking place this Sunday, July 26th from 2-6 pm!  A fundraiser for Hospice House presented by Bellingham Bay Rotary, Brewers by the Bay is in it’s 3rd year. Held at the Depot Market Square (home of the Bellingham Farmer’s Market) in downtown Bellingham, the festival has both indoor and outdoor aspects.  This unique event features 60 different beers from 30 breweries (including us!!), BBQ, and live music by The Playlists, Space Band and The Lost Highway Band.  Tickets are $25 and advance purchase is recommended.  But the best part of all is that the festival is directly across the street from us here at Boundary Bay Brewery, which gives you even more beer drinking options!  If the sun or the crowds get to be too much, come find relief in our Beer Garden or on our nice breezy deck for lunch.  Cheers!  Oh, and as of “press time”, we’ve still got our Imperial IPA on tap (which you won’t find across the street at the festival) so make sure to stop by before or after Brewers at the Bay to enjoy this rare treat…or to treat yourself to an aged Cabin Fever – thanks to Christmas in July!
