Boundary Bay Brewery was awarded Best Stout this year at the 14th Annual Okanagan Fest-of-Ale (held April 3rd & 4th in British Columbia, Canada)!
Each year patrons of the Okanagan Fest-of-Ale have the opportunity to vote towards ‘The People’s Choice Awards’. Winners are chosen from the ballots that patrons submit during the event. Ballots are totaled and the winners are announced just prior to the end of the event on Saturday. All attending patrons receive one ballot slip, with their souvenir glass.
Since 2004, the Okanagan Fest-of-Ale Society has also been host to the ‘Industry Choice Awards’, where between three to five industry judges sample the micro-brews at the event. The winners are chosen on the basis of the an industry accepted point system and categories: Aroma (12); Appearance (3); Flavour (20); Mouth Feel (5); and Overall (10) for a total of 50 points.
We are very pleased to announce our that our Imperial Oatmeal Stout not only won the Industry Choice for Best Stout in 2009 but also took home the 2008 People’s Choice Award of Best Beer (also for the Imperial Stout). So, head on over to the brewery and grab a bottle of Oatmeal Stout to enjoy at your next BBQ and toast the great taste of the Okanagan Fest-of-Ale!
