One of the best things about working for Boundary Bay Brewery is that this business really believes in creating and sustaining real relationships – with the community at large and especially within their own staff. Rather than a group of employees, this place operates more like a family and it is in times of crises that the family really pulls together.
Our employee and friend, Dane Whitehead, was hurt in a skiing accident on Mt. Baker and needs our help now. We’re coming together and throwing a big fundraising party at Rumors (our next door neighbor!) tomorrow night to help offset the expenses of his accident.
We’ve got DJ Shortwave and DJ Postal who will be spinning tunes all night and we’ve asked lots of local businesses to donate great stuff to be raffled off. The party doesn’t officially start till 10pm, but raffle ticket sales will start around 8pm. All proceeds from the $3 cover and the raffle ticket sales will go directly to Dane.
Please come out and enjoy a night at Rumors tomorrow night to help Dane! Come dance, have fun, maybe win some great stuff in the raffle and help raise money for a friend in need. We appreciate all your support! Thank you to Evan Whitehead, Dane’s talented brother, who provided the painting used in the backdrop of the poster above and has also donated a painting to the raffle. And we’d also like to thank Rumors for hosting our fundraiser (since there’s way more room to dance!!) and for donating all of the money from the door to Dane. It is in times like these that the strength of our community really shines!
