New Year’s Eve at Boundary Bay Brewery!

How was your 2009?

So lackluster that it needs a quick fix in it’s final hours?

So middling and forgettable that it needs to end in a way that won’t escape your memory in the coming years?

So incredibly spectacular that it needs to end with a bang?

If you answered yes to any of the above, then Boundary Bay Brewery has THE New Year’s Eve party for you!  With live music courtesy of two of Bellingham’s most party starting musical outfits, No-Fi Soul Rebellion and GNS & The Reparations, the freshest dance cuts from the current and previous millennium spun by DJ Idlhnds, a midnight keg drop (Bellingham’s own version of a Times Square tradition) and plenty of delicious Boundary Bay Brewing Co. beer, 2009 will end just like you need it to: with the best party of the year!

Thursday, December 31 @ Boundary Bay Brewery & Bistro, doors 10pm, $6 cover, 21+

The Late Show Returns TONIGHT @ Boundary Bay Brewery

Is it too much to ask for good, inexpensive live music that makes you feel like you are doing something good?  You know, makes you feel all warm and fuzzy and good karma-y?  Boundary Bay Brewery doesn’t think so.

Boundary Bay Brewery is pleased to to be raising the curtain on another season of The Late Show, a series of Friday night bi-monthly benefit concerts in the taproom featuring local, regional and national bands performing to raise money and awareness for Bellingham area non-profit organizations.

The Late Show season kicks off tonight with a barn burner of a dance party featuring performances by Bellingham’s own soul-punk duo No-Fi Soul Rebellion and Portland, Oregon’s record-scratchin’-sax-blowin’-one-man-can-of-rad Boy Eats Drum Machine with all proceeds going to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Washington.  The show is 21+ with a $4 cover and the the doors opening @ 10:30pm.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Washington are non-profit organization dedicated helping the youth of Whatcom & Skagit counties reach their potential by establishing professionally supported, one-to-one mentoring relationships. To achieve their mission of successful mentoring relationships for all children who need and want them, Big Brothers Big Sisters recruits and trains dedicated volunteers to match with at-risk youth in the local community.  Through careful background checks, training and regular match support, Big Brothers Big Sisters is working to ensure that every child who needs a caring adult role model has one—contributing to brighter futures, better schools and stronger communities for generations to come.

We hope to see you here tonight!

Musician/Inventor Quintron TONIGHT at Boundary Bay Brewery!

Performing tonight at Boundary Bay Brewery and Bistro is New Orleans ‘Swamp-Tech’  duo Quintron & Miss Pussycat.

Quintron & Miss Pussycat’s blazing organ runs, stomping drum machine beats, professionally played maracas, puppets and yowled wildcat vocals all combine to create a widely critically acclaimed live music experience that might leave you exclaiming,  ‘How’dtheydothat?!?’  Well friends, the answer is that Quintron invents and modifies his own instruments!  From the Fender Rhodes-meets-Hammond organ-meets-vintage muscle car of his keyboard rig, to the zenith of his creations, the light controlled analog synthesizer he calls the Drum Buddy, it is safe to say that nothing and nobody sounds like Quintron.  Quintron actually manufactures Drum Buddy’s for sale.  Proud owners include legendary performance artist and musician Laurie Anderson and Wilco guitarist Nels Cline.  Even Kanye West has marveled at the wonders of the Drum Buddy on his blog.

Perhaps this whole Quintron & Miss Pussycat thing merits some further investigation…

Quintron & Miss Pussycat play in Boundary Bay Brewery & Bistro’s beer garden Friday, July 31st with No-Fi Soul Rebellion.  Doors are @ 9pm and tickets are $8

Halloween help from Boundary Bay Brewery

Chances are if you haven’t yet picked up a pumpkin by now, how to celebrate Halloween is something that hasn’t even begun to be considered to enter your already maxed out mind. So let Boundary Bay Brewery make it easy for you.

Costume

The ghost costume is a classic. According to eHow.com, it can be made in eight easy steps:

Step One Get your hands on a white sheet that you don’t mind cutting. Check thrift stores for an old sheet, but remember to wash it before you use it.

Step Two: Put the sheet over the person who plans to wear it, with the person’s head in the middle of the sheet.

Step Three: Draw two circles around each of the person’s eyes with a crayon or other blunt marker.

Step Four: Mark how much material has to be removed to keep the sheet off the ground.

Step Five: Remove the sheet.

Step Six: Cut the eyeholes in the sheet using cloth scissors, and cut the bottom off if needed.

Step Seven: Cut the sheet in a ragged fashion at the bottom for a more ghostly effect.

Step Eight: Brush glue on the hem and around the eyeholes to prevent fraying.

Party

Choosing the right Halloween party or celebration to attend can really make or break the holiday. Private parties are alright, but the risk of personal injury,or (even worse) boredom is far too great on such a short notice. We recommend you come celebrate with us at Boundary Bay Brewery this Halloween. There will be plenty of delicious beer, hot food and snacks, and two stages hosting 4 bands! And the lineup of bands this year is top notch. Just check the Schedule out:

9 pm on the tap room stage: A Gun That Shoots Knives

10 pm on the beer garden stage: Guinness and the Reparations

11 pm on the tap room stage: No-Fi Soul Rebellion

Midnight on the beer garden stage: Yogoman Burning Band
