Bellingham is a town that houses a LOT of creativity…and a lot of independent thinkers. What happens when those independent thinkers can’t find just the right forum for expressing their creativity? Well, they just go ahead and create the forum for themselves. Which is exactly what a small group of local film makers did when they created a fast growing phenomenon known as Trailer Wars.
Trailer Wars, Bellingham’s Movie Trailer challenge, is a competition in which local creative types complete trailers for non-existent films based on an ever-changing set of criteria. For each installment, a set of guidelines is established and teams/individuals have until the screening date to complete submissions, at which time entries will be shown and a victor chosen by audience vote. Trailer Wars is completely OPEN competition to anyone wishing to participate (no invitation required). Submissions need only adhere to the month’s posted criteria to enter the fray on Screening Night.
You can check out the next Trailer Wars happening at 9pm THIS THURSDAY – April 15th – at the Pickford Cinema! Look for Boundary Bay Brewery‘s very first entry to Trailer Wars and then join us in the Boundary Bay Beer Garden next month for a Best of Trailer Wars evening!
